New Arrivals to Neon for July 2016

A combination of blockbuster movie titles and top-notch television series arrive on NEON this month, along with a parent’s dream – a different family movie each day over the July holiday break, culminating with family-friendly fantasy Pan. A list of new movie additions follows, but first we want to point out two highlights that come from the world of television aka cinema’s lil’ brother.

Roadies is the touted first foray into television by Cameron Crowe, who returns to similar territory as his semi-autobiographical Almost Famous. Focusing on the hard-working crew who work with a fictional rock band, the show’s cast is also more accustomed to big screens, starring Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots and Kiwi Keisha Castle-Hughes.

If Roadies is a gritty account of what really goes on behind the scenes, you’re warned to expect the absolute opposite with Toast of London. UK comedy dynamo Matt Berry (The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, Snuff Box) plays hapless and vain theatrical actor Steven Toast in this comic farce. It’s no exaggeration to say we’ve watched this clip from the show several dozen times…
