Park Chan-Wook, Director of ‘Oldboy’ & ‘Stoker’, Coming to NZ for the Big Screen Symposium 2013

Script to Screen and J&A Productions are proud to announce the 2013 Big Screen Symposium to be held at the University of Auckland, August 10th-11th. The event will explore the theme “Reel vision in a digital world”.

Park Chan-wook, critically acclaimed South Korean director of the superb Oldboy and the upcoming Stoker, has been confirmed for this year’s Big Screen Symposium, and will present a Directors’ Workshop and an In Conversation session. Chan-wook is also known for his films Joint Security Area (2000), Thirst (2009) and what has become known as the Vengeance Trilogy, consisting of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), and Lady Vengeance (2005).

Park has won a number of awards including the prestigious Grand Prix award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival for Oldboy, and the Cinema Avvenire and Il Leoncino d’oro awards at the 2005 Venice Film Festival for Lady Vengeance.
