So, it wasn't Cabin in the Woods...
Saw this last night in the mystery screening where I had completely convinced myself that the movie was going to be Cabin in the Woods. So, I was initially disappointed when the film started. Luckily however, the movie starts with quite a fast pace, getting us into Vampire territory rather quickly. After that it starts to slow down a bit and after such a long build up I was a little disappointed in the anti-climatic killing of the vampire he wanted revenge on so badly. Benjamin Walker was not always convincing in his part which is a shame but I thoroughly enjoyed Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie's characters. Though some have suggested that the film does not manage to stake itself as neither an action or historical film, I thought this was a clever and mostly well done combination. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend.
