I couldn't have put it better myself.
Russell is an exceptional comedian. There was even one scene when Arthur was bidding on an auction where Helen (as in Helen - not Hobson) was barely containing her laughter.
However, I felt sorry for Russell having to be serious Arthur because it just didn't seem (or look) natural.
As much as I like all the actors in this film, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as a must-see. More like a only-if-there's-nothing-else-on-see.
Before seeing this movie i was a bit anxious as to what i was about to see. Was it going to befilm that used Russel Brand to his witty full potential or a shallow piece of crap that used up all the funny in the tailer and had a painfuly generic plot? For me it was a bit of both, it had you laughing and wincing in the space of 20 seconds.
feel good film.
I felt a bit torn between English comedy and the low IQ American "Jack Black" kind of humour plus too much primitive happy happy pancake pancake predictable script. I believe, due to some laughs, it still deserves two stars.
