Ferpect Crime (Crimen ferpecto)

Ferpect Crime (Crimen ferpecto) 2007

'Ferpect Crime' screened in the 2006 World Cinema Showcase Festival. The Spanish director proudly and brilliantly states: "I just want to create a perfect form of stupidity. Just plain fun, without a single message whatsoever."

Showcase Film Festival: "Vain, suave and ruthless, department store ladies’ man Rafael Gonzalez fends off his unlikely comeuppance in this succulently unsavoury comedy... A blackly comic farce, distinguished by its maker’s expert comic timing and his unerring instinct for political incorrectness. As Rafael falls from grace, de la Iglesia fires off potshots at all manner of targets (reality television, consumerism, the aesthetically-challenged), savours a lurid scene of dismemberment and, in what is rapidly becoming his trademark, climaxes with the destruction of yet another of Madrid’s most famous landmarks."

Starring Guillermo Toledo, Mónica Cervera, Luis Varela, Enrique Villén, Fernando Tejero, Kira Miró

good dark comedy about corporate climbing. Bit surrealistic at times and very funny. Highly recommend.

The film is called El Crimen Perfecto (The Perfect Crime). Why is it shown as 'Ferpect Crime' all over the website?

[ED's response: The film's official title is Crimen ferpecto - translates to Ferpect Crime. True though, it has also been titled Crimen perfecto (Perfect Crime) on DVD release. See imdb.com for more info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395125/]

Mr. Toledo's performance as the shallow and cowardly, yet strangely sympathetic Rafael is a wonder of comic timing, while Ms. Cervera is unforgettable as Lourdes, the ugly duckling who becomes not a swan, but a monster...
