  • general comment regarding volume

the volume on many of the showings is much too loud.
Please is it possible to adjust it down a little. Sometimes we have come out after a good film with our ears ringing. It seems to be a commom complaint and needs seeing too.

An entertaining film. Alot of violence, no where near as good as TAKEN (the directors previous NZ release)... but if you like you action, with abit of humour, dont care to much for a deep story. Enjoy the 90 minutes... I did... When I want my serious drama, I will go to a serious drama, but this filled the spot

  • It is sort of Fresh, Funny, Hero Making, and a little Twisted,

If you like fast witty extreme action and great one liners go to this movie, needs the big screen and sound systems to bring it alive..Travolta is aging and that is for sure but this is a fun fast action pizza movie. Well produced, filmed with some great action spots with some great instant twists to keep you on the edge of your seat..

  • Chicago Sun-Times (Roger Ebert)

I hasten to say this is not criticism of John Travolta. He succeeds in this movie by essentially acting in a movie of his own.

It’s absolute nonsense, of course, but does quite nicely as knockabout Friday night fun. We can smell a sequel if Travolta can be bothered.

Travolta has/is a blast in an action-thriller-comedy that otherwise comes up short.

I am ashamed to admit that this empty-headed, preposterous, possibly evil mélange of gunplay and high-speed car chases on Parisian boulevards is a feel-good movie that produces a buzz.

    2 2 out of 5 stars

Travolta gets to do what Travolta does best in this action thriller from the team who brought us Taken, writer Luc Besson and director Pierre Morel.

    3 3 out of 5 stars

Travolta and Meyers do all that’s required of them in another Besson B-movie blow-out. No brain required, but to be fair, twice as entertaining as many films with double the budget.

A crime not just against cinema but all of humanity, it’s been a long, long time since a movie made me this mad. Half a Star (my worst Film3 rating ever).

  • Variety

To his credit, Travolta hams it up with the kind of laissez-faire irony that might have made the film a tongue-in-cheek pleasure, had his attitude extended to the filmmakers.
