TV weatherman Phil Connors (Murray) is an easily irritated man, assigned to report on the Groundhog festivities in the small do-nothing town of Punxsutawney. He hates the Groundhog celebrations, the camera crew and the the town full of "hicks". Phil just wants to get the day over and done with.
