Pretty Fab

alpheta A-Lister (?)

I went to this movie as my 20 year old daughter was keen to see it, and I also really like a few Katy Perry songs a lot. My expectation was that it might be a bit of light fluffy fun, but it turned out to be an interesting and engaging story with plenty to keep me interested.
It reminded me how good a biopic can be and how it can give a very enjoyable insight into the real person, and in this case the person seems to be genuinely nice. The back story included parts of her childhood, and the seeming meteoric rise to fame was blown out of the water as we saw how tough the climb really was, and how fickle the superstar-maker machinery is. Katy Perry minus makeup was fascinating, and the gut-wrenching moment that I won't spoil was an incredible tribute to her singular dedication to her fans. An all round good solid movie of its type, and worth it for anyone with any kind of interest in this star.
