America's Favourite Stars: Clint & Johnny

Clint Eastwood is America's favourite star, according to the latest Harris Poll - an online survey operating since 1994.
Denzel Washington had topped the poll since 2006, but he drops to number 3. Johnny Depp, after the weekend's false rumours of the 46 year olds death in a traffic accident, managers to jump in at number 2 (up from 8th spot last year). Unsurprisingly, he was number 1 for women voters. The ultimate girl-next-door, Sandra Bullock, after the hit rom-com The Proposal soars to number 4.
All those on the list are over 40. The oldest, and only dead, star on the list is the original cowboy John Wayne - a regular on the Harris Poll since the beginning. Interestingly enough, Clint was number 1 for Republican voters and Denzel number 1 for Democrats.
There are three new faces since last year: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney and Meryl Streep. Dropping off the radar was Will Smith, Harrison Ford and Angelina Jolie.
But celebrities need to stay on their toes, as recently as 2003 Mel Gibson had topped the poll.
Here's the full top 10:
1. Clint Eastwood
2. Johnny Depp
3. Denzel Washington
4. Sandra Bullock
5. Tom Hanks
6. George Clooney
7. John Wayne
8. Meryl Streep
