Bridgeway Wins Best Independent Cinema in NZ
Bridgeway Cinema Northcote was last night awarded Best Overall New Zealand Cinema, voted by the Australian Independent Distributors Association, at the Australian Movie Convention on the Gold Coast where all cinemas from all over Australia and New Zealand gather to celebrate achievements and success stories. The award is decided upon in terms of revenue, commitment to industry, public service, best marketing, best management and the general back-patting niceness of the staff.
Kelly Rogers, co-owner, accepted the award presented by Bindy Irwin, Steve Irwin’s daughter, holding a terrifyingly massive python named Phil. Rogers said "to be awarded the highest honour in NZ is testament to all the hard work that we put into the cinema to provide unparalleled service and were very proud of this achievement".
