'Dark Knight' triggers IMDB shenanighans

The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan's existential crime opus, has been garnering near-unanimous praise and success. However some wins are too good to be true: amid the accolades, reports emerged that the movie had taken the sacrosanct top spot on IMDB's top movies of all time list from The Godfather.

It later emerged that the honour was dubiously-won, however: nefarious cadres of clamouring fanboys had been purposely voting The Godfather down so as to get "their" film to the top spot. In response, counter-troops of movie-geeks hacked the site, temporarily bestowing on The Dark Knight the quizzical honour of topping both the best and worst lists.

The database restored, underhand Sicilian tampering has been removed from the equation... until the next time someone directs a good comic-book movie, at which time the petty, useful-to-no-real-person subversion of democracy will begin anew. God bless the Internet!
