Dave Grohl, Rock Star, Now Also Director Of Documentaries
Not content with selling over ten million albums, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl can now add documentary director to his CV if he ever needs to look for a job. Sound City will tell the story of the legendary studio of the same name, focusing on the world-changing albums recorded there and featuring performances by many of the artists who have contributed to its rich history.
Over the years these acts have included Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Guns and Roses, Fear, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica and Nirvana, who recorded Nevermind at Sound City when Grohl was a 22-year-old whippersnapper.
"Documenting a personal journey beginning 20 years ago that culminates in a full circle musical reunion," according to Grohl, "Sound City is a film about the truth, the craft and the integrity of rock and roll."
