First Pics From Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Here are the first photos of actors in character in Quentin Tarantino's western, which debuted at Entertainment Weekly. The film's about a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) who becomes a brutal gun-for-hire, determined to rescue his wife from a merciless plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Dr. King Schultz (Inglourious Basterds' Christoph Waltz) is a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter who buys Django at a slave auction. After helping Schultz with a couple of bounties, Django is given his freedom papers. Under the German’s guidance, the former slave develops a talent for bounty-hunting. Together, the pair head to Mississippi to free Django’s slave wife from her sadistic owner Calvin Candie (DiCaprio).

Also stars Kurt Russell, Sacha Baron Cohen and Tarantino-regular Samuel L. Jackson and opens on January 24, 2013.
