Indie Game: The Movie To Make Its First International Appearance In NZ
The Sundance award-winning video game documentary Indie Game: The Movie will make its first international showing right here in New Zealand, according to Stuff. The film will play in Auckland's own Academy Cinema next Friday night (you can book tickets here).
The screening lines up nicely with the New Zealand Game Developers Association Conference while lining up disastrously for those attending the V48Hours filmmaking comp next week (e.g. me).
The documentary follows the designers behind three X-Box Live Arcade games (Braid, Super Mean Boy and Fez). With a dying love for the contemporary art form, the dedicated developers try to cope with the intense struggle of making their unique vision a reality while hoping to survive in an unforgiving medium.
