UPDATE: It has been confirmed. Jim Carrey will play The Colonel in Kick-Ass 2. Yussssssssssssss!
Universal are eyeing up everyone’s favourite Canadian comedic actor Jim Carrey for a supporting role in the upcoming Kick-Ass sequel, seemingly titled Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. According to Slashfilm, the studio wants Carrey to play role of The Colonel, a former employee of crime boss John Genovese (NOT Mark Strong’s character from the last one) who finds God and starts his own superhero crime force ‘Justice Forever’.
Nothing has been set in stone, but if the above picture is any indication, Carrey wouldn’t be immediately opposed to the idea. If Carrey does jump on board (and we really, really, really hope he does), he’ll be joined by an equally fine cast that includes John Leguizamo (Sid from Ice Age), Donald Faison (Turk from Scrubs), Morris Chestnut (Ladder 49) and Robert Emms (War Horse).
Aaron Johnson, Chloë Moretz and Nicolas Cage are set to reprise their roles. McLovin’ himself Christopher Mintz-Plasse is also returning as Red Mist, who changes his villain name to The Mother Fucker.
