Kiwi Movie Month

Kiwi Movie Month

Kiwi Movie Month, Flicks.co.nz

Event Cinemas are trialling a new idea of theirs, it's called Kiwi Movie Month and they want to know whether you think it's a good idea.

It's already started, and so far included are The Most Fun You Can Have Dying and Good for Nothing. Next up is Shihad: Beautiful Machine (a documentary about the band) opening on May 17.

But that’s not all - Goodbye Pork Pie is racing back to the cinema on May 24. There’s a mini-festival of Kiwi Classics on Queen’s Birthday weekend in Wellington and Auckland. Plus special event screenings of Sir Peter Jackson's The Frighteners.

And of course the chance to see more recent ones – Sione’s 2: Unfinished Business, Boy and My Wedding and Other Secrets.

We're keen on supporting local films where we can, and the folks behind Kiwi Movie Month have asked us for our thoughts (we'd like to see short films prior to the features), and most importantly yours. So do let us know what you think - is this the sort of thing that could become a national, ongoing event? What sort of films would you like to see?
