Keanu Reeves will star in a sci-fi love story called Passengers. Variety reports that it will be directed by Gabriele Muccino, who showed us with Seven Pounds that he's into far-fetched nonsense.
This tall tale should suit the helmer perfectly. It takes place years in the future on a long-range spaceship, when a computer glitch awakens a lone man (Reeves) from a crygogenic sleep.
He awakens, puzzled, and naturally feels a bit frustrated. Faced with 90 years of waiting for anyone else to emerge from a deep freeze, he wakes up a beautiful woman to stop him dying alone.
Shooting will begin mid-year.
