Len Wiseman is in final negotiations to direct Columbia Pictures’ Total Recall, it was announced today by Columbia Pictures.
The film will be a new, contemporized adaptation of Total Recall, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by Paul Verhoeven, which was based on the story, We Can Remember It for You Wholesale by Philip K. Dick (the sci-fi master who inspired films like Blade Runner and Minority Report, among many others). Scribe Kurt Wimmer (Law Abiding Citizen, Street Kings) is writing the screenplay.
Commenting on the announcment, Wiseman said, “I've always been fascinated with Philip K. Dick's short story, and I'm excited at that prospect of diving even deeper into the type of world it evokes and the questions it asks. I love that the most crucial mystery our character is trying to solve is the one of his own soul.”
Wiseman wrote and directed Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, a film he also executive produced. His next directing project was the fourth Die Hard movie, Live Free or Die Hard.

Yawn, another remake. Why are the morons with the money going backwards?!! There are so many excellent books out there that could be adapted, yet these wankers are looking up their rears......

Another remake? I like Wiseman's other films so will probably watch this at some satge (Sky Moives most probably).
I just think it's a real shame that not many people are able to think for themselves and write/create new movies.
