'Silent Hill' Sequel Gets A Release Date
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the sequel to one of the only videogame movies to not totally suck, finally has a distributor, along with an American Halloween release date. Open Road Films aquired the rights and have marked the 26th of October as the film's official US opening date. Hopefully NZ won't be too far behind.
The follow-up has spent the past three years in limbo after writer-director Roger Avary was accused of DUI and manslaughter. Let's hope that fellow never spends time in Silent Hill...
The sequel, funnily enough, is loosely based on the third game in the series, with the game's protagonist, Heather Mason, leading the frightful fray.
Also, series geeks may be excited/confused to learn that Game of Thrones star Sean Bean will be playing Harry Mason, Heather's father... as well as his character from the first movie, Christopher Da Silva. That's... pretty rad.
