Sin City 2 Is Coming
It’s officially official: Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller will start production on Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the highly anticipated sequel to the multi-directed 2005 hit adaptation.
Dimension Films made the announcement early last week (12/04/12) and, unsurprisingly, plot details have been locked in a vault, chained up and shot to the moon. If you’re a purist, you can hunt down the original graphic novel to get a sense of what the film may or may not be like. Or you could simply read the Wikipedia synopsis. Potato Potãto.
From what we DO know, Frank Miller co-wrote the screenplay with Oscar-winner William Monahan (The Departed). Miller partially directed the first Sin City (loved by many) and fully directed 2008’s The Spirit (loved by no-one). However, in the meantime, the director’s chair looks to be reserved for Robert Rodriguez’s butt-cheeks only. Probably for the best, really.
Casting will begin any day now, with familiar faces no doubt returning to the fray. Shooting starts in their summer, our winter.
