Adam Sandler Is The Star Of 'Candy Land'.
InsideMovie.com have the inside word that Adam Sandler is now attatched to star and produce the movie adaptation of the board game Candy Land. He is also in talks to "take a fresh attempt" at the film's current screenplay with his regular writing partner Robert Smigel. Cartoon Network fave Ben 10 is heading to the silver screen, reports Variety. Power producer Joel Silver (Matrix trilogy) is onboard and has hired writer Albert Torres to knock up a script. Torres has just finished work on the script for the American remake of Akira. No word on whether the film will be animated or live action, but as Silver produced Speed Racer we think it's a fairly safe bet to expect a similar sort of vibe to that.

Today In Trivia: Before Tom Hanks was cast, Bill Murray, John Travolta and Chevy Chase all turned down the chance to play Forrest Gump. While ex-Monty Python Terry Gilliam and M.I.B's Barry Sonnenfeld both rejected offers to direct.

Today's Bad Movie Tagline: The tagline for Adam Sandler's 1999 comedy Big Daddy: "Nature called. Look who answered". Let me hazard a guess at who answered... a grown man-child with explosive anger issues and begrudging sense of maturity perhaps? Thought so.
*Bonus trivia: The film's poster also serves as an entirely accurate review...
