The REAL Reason For 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Delay...
Now with added Tatum.
Recently, the internet ran out of jaws to drop when news hit of G.I. Joe 2’s delay from June 2012 to March 2013. Paramount claimed it was simply to add post-converted 3D to the film, theoretically resulting in greater box office numbers.
But according to Deadline, the real reason for the haphazard delay was to include extra scenes after test score of the early cut ranged from mediocre to bad. This usually doesn’t justify a nine-month delay, but considering how they kill off Channing Tatum at the start of the film, they probably felt it necessary to correct this unprofitable mistake.
So you can expect more Tatum in March, as well as more 3D Tatum.
