Director Tony Scott Dies in Apparent Suicide
Reports have just come in that British-born director Tony Scott - brother of Ridley - has jumped to his death from a Long Beach bridge. The U.S. Coast Guard has apparently found a suicide note from Scott in a car parked nearby.
Scott is probably best-known for directing Top Gun, and was in the process of developing a sequel to the 1986 Tom Cruise blockbuster.
Tony Scott's feature film career began with 1983's vampire flick The Hunger, starring Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon and other notable films during the 80s and 90s included Beverly Hills Cop II, Days of Thunder, The Last Boy Scout, True Romance, Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State.
His most recent films were Unstoppable and The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.
