Trailer For Baz Luhrmann's 'Great Gatsby'
Here's our first look at the brand new film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, The Great Gatsby. Filmed in Australia (but set in the affluent surrounds of New York), it's directed by Baz Luhrmann and is more than a bit reminiscent of his flamboyant Moulin Rouge. Early word says this is going to be stunning in 3D, too. Take a look:
The films stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, co-stars Carey Mulligan (Drive), Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man) and Joel Edgerton (The Thing).
Set in 1922, wannabe writer Nick Carraway (Maguire) leaves the Midwest and heads for New York City with ambitions to pursue. He is situated across from his cousin Daisy (Mulligan) and her aristocratic husband Tom (Edgerton). Next door is the great Gatsby, an eccentric playboy who drives the jazzy and morally loose nightlife. Within this world, romance, scandals and tragedy fuel the lives of the wealthy, as well as inspiration for Nick’s pen.
