'True Blood' Star Sets Sail
HeatVision is reporting that Alexander Skarsgard, one of the stars of TV’s True Blood, has climbed aboard the Peter Berg (Hancock, The Kingdom) directed Battleship.
A little while ago Flicks.co.nz reported that Taylor Kitch was being courted for the lead role, which he has been confirmed in. Skarsgard will play the straight-up-and-down naval officer, who is the older brother and idol of Kitch’s “spirited naval officer” character.
The movie won’t just be a Swede and an American sitting either side of a table saying, “B12” or “F14” to each other. It brings in an alien element, with an international fleet being assembled to fight the other-worldly and underwater threat.
Shooting begins in Hawaii on the 8th of August, aiming for a June 2012 release.
