Latest changes: YOUR CINEMAS LIST

We’ve launched a new feature: Your Cinemas. With it, you can save the cinemas you heart to a list and quickly navigate through them.

First, login (you have to, so we can save the list). In the cinemas section add cinemas by clicking the heart buttons.

On cinemas pages you’ll then see your list of cinemas on the right-hand side. You can also use this right-hand list to also add/remove cinemas.

Next up: Your Cinemas will be prioritised in the list of session times on movie pages.


Movie ticket booking links, On Demand and DVD/Blu-Ray purchasing links

Flicks.co.nz shows a variety of buying options for movies. For movies in cinemas (where available), we provide links to the cinema's booking pages. For movies available On Demand or on DVD/Blu-Ray we provide purchasing links to providers/retailers. See these on any movie page.

Note - we currently show every cinema ticket buying option. For On Demand and DVD the options are less comprehensive. Eventually, all options will be displayed. Give us a little time on that one.

Flicks.co.nz does not handle any purchases - these are referrel links.


New On Demand section

Brand spanking new to Flicks.co.nz is an On Demand section. Like we do for movies playing in cinemas, we aim to bring you every movie available On Demand – complete with every purchasing option that’s available.

Initially, as we sort ourselves out, we are showing the complete movie catalogue of our good friends at QuickFlix.co.nz.

As we grow the section – more options will be available, and more ways of filtering/searching for the movie you want to see.


Membership/Sign-Up: Connecting with Facebook and Twitter

If you're a Facebooker, you can use your profiles to sign up with Flicks. If your Flicks.co.nz profile is not currently connected, you can link it to your Facebook or Twitter account (under Settings).

This is simply a way to login into Flicks easily - so you don't have to remember another set of log-in details. We won't ever automatically post to your Facebook wall or Twitter page.

You can still change any of your Flicks profile details as you so wish. You can also remove connections (under Settings).

Every member is ranked - so you can see at a glance who's worth their salt:
NOBODY = 0-3 reviews
WANNABE = 4-6 reviews
B-GRADER = 7-9 reviews
A-LISTER = 10-19 reviews
SUPERSTAR = 20+ reviews


Membership/Sign-Up:Your avatar...

Recent changes to our system means many of the avatars will be stretched on your profile page. This is simply because we wanted bigger pictures.

You can update your avatar be editing your profile. The full dimensions are: 140 x 140 pixels.


Membership/Sign-Up: Film Informant and Email subscribtions...

Your membership comes with our weekly email: The Film Informant - the first word on all things cinematic in NZ, in your inbox every Thursday.

You will also receive, from time to time, invites to our preview screenings and notices from our movie-only sponsors.

Under Settings, you will see both Email subscriptions which you can opt-in or out at anytime.


Is my Flicks membership information private?

100%. When you sign up or edit your details, each bit of information is clearly marked to show what information is displayed to others and which is not. Basically, all private info (email, full name) is hidden. See our Terms & Conditions for more.

If you would like your profile deleted - email ed@flicks.co.nz. Please include your User Name and Real Name. We'll take care of it.


I find a review or comment offensive and I want to tell somebody...
