Hot Vampires of 'The Hunger'

1983

Tony Scott’s The Hunger had arrived a couple of years before better-known 80s vampire flicks like The Lost Boys but promptly flopped, illustrating how vamp flicks go in and out of fashion. It also focused more on the decrepitude of the undead (though its principal mortal Susan Sarandon was hardly one foot in the grave).

While not sexually explicit by True Blood standards, Scott captured vampiric eroticism in The Hunger with the film’s tryst between Susan Sarandon and Catherine Deneuve being among the hottest scenes in 80s cinema.

Also-ran awesome thing in The Hunger: David effing Bowie as a vamp and third part of the film’s love triangle
