A list of Oscar-nominated films currently playing in NZ cinemas

The nominees for the 2019 Academy Awards were announced last week. While the privileged film nerds hoop ‘n holler about who should’ve and should’n’t’ve gotten nominated, the rest of us just want to know if we’re able to watch these films in our local cinema.

We’ve got that list right here. (Note: does not include outliers like that one Monday night screening of BlacKkKlansman in Nelson.)

Semi-autobiographical drama from Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón chronicling a year in the life of a middle-class family in ’70s Roma, Mexico City. While it’s currently streaming on Netflix, the film has also been playing on the big screen in select NZ cinemas for the past few weeks.
