Preview screening: If Beale Street Could Talk – get in the draw for tickets

A Harlem woman scrambles to prove her fiancé’s innocence while carrying their first child in this romantic drama directed by Oscar-winning Moonlight writer-director Barry Jenkins and based on the novel by James Baldwin (whose observations on civil rights and American racism formed the backbone of Oscar-nominated documentary I Am Not Your Negro). Co-star Regina King picked up a Golden Globe for her supporting role as well as an Academy Award nomination.

If Beale Street Could Talk releases in cinemas Thursday, March 7 but your mates at Flicks are hosting preview screenings on Wednesday, February 27 in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. (We’ve also got some tickets for those who live elsewhere in Aotearoa.)
