Q&A with KLOWN star Casper Christensen

In KLOWN, playing as part of the Incredibly Strange section of the NZ International Film Festival, audiences get to tag along with Danish comedians Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen as they go on what’s supposed to be a part canoeing, part whoring holiday of debauchery… and so does a 12-year-old boy. Raunchy and shocking, KLOWN sounds like what The Hangover could have been if it hadn’t been made in the U.S.

A new clip from the film is below, but first actor/writer Casper Christensen (grimacing away in the front of the canoe above, and more relaxed surrounded by maybe NSFW nudity further down the page) answers a few of our questions including one that’s the mark of a great journalist. Yes, the one about the price of prostitutes.

FLICKS: Hello from Flicks. How are you doing?

CHRISTENSEN: I am doing just great, I’m on my way to Spain on holiday, drinking that sangria and maybe slap some bass….(big time!).

FLICKS: What should people expect from KLOWN?

To laugh, to cry, to feel sick, to make love. It’s truly the greatest movie I’ve ever done.

FLICKS: Are they more likely to be upset or aroused?

Hopefully both.

FLICKS: What is it with you Danes that you make so much good film and telly?

Thank you! How many Danish television shows have you really watched, most of it sucks:-)

FLICKS: How much does a prostitute charge in Denmark? Is there a discount for children?

BJ: $50 FUCK: $100 ATM: $150, but let me know what you need?

FLICKS: How was the film perceived at home?

Seen by 1/5 of the population or 1.000.000 times by one man, we still don’t know.

FLICKS: Could you share your strongest memory from filming?

I blew a man! What do you think…

FLICKS: What was the last great film you saw?

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Smurf version.

FLICKS: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

If you walk in another man’s footsteps, you’ll never get ahead.

What are you thinking about doing next?

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: THE MUSICAL.
