This movie really struggles on so many levels. You don't get a chance to warm to characters. Or you just don't warm to them. The lead actor is underwhelming. It could be trying to be a historical Abe Lincoln and serious, in a movie that at times felt it should be a comedy or action flick. The slow talking dorky Abe just didn't fit with action hero. This movie could have done with dropping the strong Abe Lincoln reference and just having some guy or at least making him less historically correct. There was also a lack of character consistency at times. The movie seemed rushed and unsure of what it was. On the plus side I prefer 3D, some of the scenes were pretty neat. Sometimes I wish I could unwatch a movie because aspects were just bad. This movie gets a 2* more for its' action shots and the secondary characters. This movie was let done by the lead actor, direction and editing. All of the supporting cast were pretty good including his three closest friends, his biggest enemy and his wife in fact pretty much everyone. I'd get rid of the lead or make him more current. No get rid of him. (And the director) Just some bad choices. A real mixed bag but not in a good way.
