I've said it before and I'll say it again: Tommy C is where it's AT. This is a sweet ride from start to finish with plenty of action and a nice actress I've never seen before keeping me well happy in the eye department. Badda bing.

I'm a great fan of action. Mix that that with Emily Blunt and I can watch it more than once. I don't know what it is but a woman in amour that can kick arse seem to catch my attention. Excuse me for being a man!

Based on the Manga ‘All You Need Is Kill’, the rebranding of this to ‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ started to cause some anxiety in the marketplace over what the film would end up being.
After viewing the movie, it becomes apparent that audiences who choose to think this, end up missing one of the best films of the American Summer season.
'Edge Of Tomorrow' places Cruise in the role of 'Major William Cage', a Public Affairs officer soon thrust into a 'Groundhog Day'-like adventure where he is... More forced to relive a day over and over to attempt to win a war against an Alien invader. With the help of 'Sergeant Rita Vrataski', played by Emily Blunt, 'Cage' relives countless lifetimes hoping to either escape by defeating the enemy...or by losing it all.
With intense action scenes and pacing which caters well to the 'time-travelling' mechanic, the movie doesn't slow down in its effort to reach its conclusion.
A great supporting cast helps elevate Cruise in a role that he handles with ease, taking 'Cage' from an office-bound marketing specialist to 'Alien Death Machine' in a spectacle lasting just under 2 hours.
Everything about 'Edge Of Tomorrow' makes for a perfect Summer blockbuster, from the cast to the handling of the script and the excitement of the adventure 'Cage' takes with his lack of 'mortal coil'.
When people ask what is the one film that should be seen in the 2014 Summer season, 'Edge Of Tomorrow' will be near the top for its fantastic execution.Hide

Saw this last weekend and I have to say,I enjoyed the story line, action and humor and i'm by no means a Tom Cruise fan but this was pretty good for an action/sci-fi flick.

Action-a-plenty, Edge of tomorrow delivers a mans helping of brutal alien slaying and futuristic exoskeleton menacing. You can be excused from seeing glimmers of the movies the other reviewers have mentioned above, and then some but this was never going to be an original idea...I mean it stars Tom Cruse and was made for the American movie market. But what it lacks in originality it more than makes up for in mindless action.

Given the above it looses points but holds a steady 3/5 from me.

Groundhog Day meets Aliens & Starship Troopers. Sound awesome? It is. Based on the Japanese novel, All You Need Is Kill. Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best science-fiction movies I've seen in a while. A lot more fun than Tom Cruise's boring apocalyptic sci-fi movie Oblivion. Tom Cruise plays Bill Cage, An officer forced into battle, fighting a terrifying alien species who invade Earth, Mimics. Cage is covered with black Mimic blood, giving him the ability to relive the same day over and over... More again. This is one of Tom Cruise's best performance. He is a great actor. Emily Blunt plays Rita Vrataski, famously known as the Angel of Verdun. Rita trains Cage to fight the Mimics in battle and win the war. Blunt isn't pretending to be tough in her role. She's sort of an Ellen Ripely character. Edge of Tomorrow is like a video game, but in a good way. Despite some fuzzy 3D, the war scenes are spectacular in IMAX. There's never a dull moment. With Edge of Tomorrow and X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2014 has delivered top-notch blockbuster entertainment. Edge of Tomorrow is a must-see.Hide

For some reason the script and storyline in some of the blockbusters that I have seen so far has been outstanding and I would include Edge of Tomorrow. Tom still has the X-Factor to hold the audience attention and the support cast played their roles to the hilt. I loved some of the locations as well especially being inside the old barn and what a great scene that was. I rated this a 4 out of 5.

This one does have a great story.A different take on the usual alien movie.
These aliens are intelligent and fast.It is not often that we see the human race struggling, even with all their hi-tech equipment. They are no match for these ones.
It was gripping right from the start and just never lets go.This is a well thought out movie which leaves a lasting impression long after the credits come up.

Intelligent story and confident directing. The action sequences are quick, electric and Cruise's intricate and determined performance I think will become somewhat underrated.

Saw this yesterday (or was it today?!?), one of the best movies I've seen in a while! Great action, good special effects (the Aliens are insane!), really decent story that is funny too. Just a good all-round, enjoyable movie. Tom Cruise was solid (as usual), and Emily Blunt was great too! I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Go see it.

Edge of Tomorrow
Obviously mostly similar to ‘Ground Hog Day’ with the exso skeleton from ‘Elysium’ feel of ‘Halo’ and of course ‘District 9’ and repeats of ‘Battlefield Los Angeles’ . The Matrix’ aliens are mixed in really well with live action and the story line of ‘About Time’ and ‘Source Code’. As I love Sci-Fi, of course I liked this, great watch and I can see why it deserved its great reviews. (Now I want to read the book it’s based on All You Need Is... More Love, by Hiroshi Sakurazaka)
Genre : Sci-Fi, action, (hints of comedy, oneliners and scenes)
4/5 : Great film felt a little repetitive, ha ha. Very enjoyable action love story and I love the ending.Hide

Compare to his last movie "Oblivion" this would be his best Sci-Fi movie Tom Cruise ever done.
It has everything from start to finish, the action, humor and excitement that had me on the Edge of my seat. TC still got it in him with his acting and Emily Blunt sure knows how to kick some aliens butt.
The scale of the Effect and the CGI was amazing, putting in so much detail. It's a must watch movie on the Big screen with Big sound. The movie has done Manga proud.....

I loved, loved, loved this movie! A great plot with a rigorous storyline. Ignore those who liken it to Groundhog / Independence Day. It's a totally unique scenario, with well explained reasons for why the day is repeated. Tom Cruise portrays both a cowardly / egoic side and a humble / heroic side, and excels at making both believable. He makes his fair share of mistakes along the way, but through wit and wisdom he comes through in the end, to not only save the world, but to gain absolutely no... More credit for it. Definitely my kind of hero. I rate this movie 5 out of 5, something I haven't done for a while. Watch it in 3D to get the best perspective of the aliens. Those quickly flicking and transforming tentacles are unbelievably scary at close range!Hide
