Documentary about the remarkable life of New Zealand’s very own T’ai Chi master, Loo-Chi Hu, affectionately known to all by his nickname 'Huloo'.
A master mariner, Huloo arrived in NZ from Taiwan in the late 60s to work as a fisheries consultant and has remained here ever since. His life's adventures range from sailing a Chinese junk (an ancient sailboat) across the Pacific, to rescuing Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl near Barbados. He is also a master of T'ai Chi - having studied under master Chen Wei-Ming in Shanghei - and teaches it Christchurch, now well into his 80s. No materialist, the down to earth Huloo lives in the same modest Christchurch home he bought in the 60s and still drives his 38-year-old Volkswagen.
