A hugely entertaining, feelgood celebration of human sexuality that unfolds as a cathartic experience for characters, auds and helmer alike.
Full reviewCampy airborne comedy from Spanish auteur Pedro Almodóvar (Talk to Her). Crew members and passengers aboard a plane bound for Mexico are faced with the fact that the landing gear has failed and they are likely to plummet to their deaths.
As the plane circles over Spain, all aboard come to terms with their regrets which manifests in the form of binge-drinking, pill popping and sexual acts one shouldn't attempt with their seatbelt fastened. Almodóvar regulars Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz make cameo appearances.
While most famous for his critically-acclaimed dramas, I'm So Excited is a throwback to Almodóvar's earlier, raunchy comedies like Law of Desire (1987) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1990).

Full reviewFull of fizz, filth and fun... like an '80s retro-blast. Its scattershot comedy may not impress latecomers to Almodóvar's career, but old-school fans will love it.
Full reviewAlmodóvar's intention is just to use it all to get a genial and good-natured comedy of sex airborne; this he does, and he makes it look easy.
Full reviewThe setting acts as a bland backdrop without substance or thought. Worst of all, the dialogue feels horribly contrived, even lazy. A misguided misfire.
Full reviewCampy in-flight comedy takes off and certainly gets off, but is otherwise a rocky ride.
Full reviewAn unshakeable tolerance for high camp and lowbrow humour may be required to fully appreciate Almodóvar's broad, bawdy comedy.
