Reaffirms Nolan as the premier big-canvas storyteller of his generation, more than earning its place alongside The Wizard of Oz, 2001, Close Encounters of the Third Kind in the canon of Hollywood's visionary sci-fi head trips.

Full of visual dazzle, thematic ambition, geek bait and corn (including the literal kind), is a sweeping, futuristic adventure driven by grief, dread and regret.

Not every film need address the possibility of human extinction with the gung-ho silliness of Armageddon, but at least that was a space adventure. This is a science report.

Never less than engrossing, and sometimes more than that.

Falters at minor points... [but] it transcends its genre conventions and achieves a pure cinematic profundity and sense of overwhelming awe.

Brainy, barmy and beautiful to behold, this is Stephen Hawking's Star Trek: a mind-bending opera of space and time with a soul wrapped up in all the science.

I didnt mind this movie but i did find it took forever to get to the point. I loved the twist at the end. Oh an Tsunami island best idea!

I found this movie a great watch, especially if you're wanting a deeper film, not for a light afternoon comedy. It was gripping and had new ideas brought into the film. Personally I think people are over-thinking this film too much, expecting too much from the director and comparing this film too often to other films like Gravity and 2001: A Space Odyssey....

I really wanted to like this. I really like Nolan as a director, in my opinion he is the Spielberg of his generation, a fantastic film maker who pushes the boundaries of believability in a believable world but this time he pushed it too far (I won't say where as it will spoil it). Great cast, great beginning and middle but Nolan killed it with the twist.

Interstellar Great movie that is like a combination of "2001:A Space Odyssey", "Knowing", "Gravity" and "Alien". I loved the robots in this film and barely noticed them to begin with, nice and obscured. Unlike the normal noisy crap we all meander to, the volume of this story was very dull and the thoughts were able to run wild while watching this (much like...

I took my Grandma to see this and she was so unhappy with it because of the plot confusion but i seeme to love it for that reason! I like to not know everythign and then leave wondering about it at the end. This made me want to know more about the science of gravity and time travel. Matt Damon gives a great persormance and twist to the plot and Matthew...

Christopher Nolan knocked this one out of the park even with Anne Hathaway as part of his cast. It is simply worth the effort to get your bum on a seat for this film. It may be slow moving and somewhat self indulgent but it is grand in its scale and serious about its ambitions. I enjoyed.

I just WISH they had decided to make this film for smart people or at least semi-intelligent people. It's like they wanted to appeal to the broadest audience possible and so they had to dumb down an otherwise captivating exploration of space and time. Entertaining, but too simplistic to revisit.

This is great story telling, with a subject that has not been seen in movies before. There are no spoilers here.It is based on new science that has only been talked about. The movie can mess with the mind and needs time to deliver the concept. The 3 hour running time is justified. It is a bit cheesy and a little slow at times but then it will open up with some...

Watch the movie without expectations then tell us what you think. I give it five stars because I like the elements of the story: the will to survive, the parent's love towards his/her offspring that can transcend anything - including time and space, the passion to save humanity as a higher purpose and life's work and the reality that no matter how long we...

You know the moment you walk out of the corner shop with a dollar mixture, expectation is high as you open the white paper bag. Inevitably it contains some lollies you love, and the some you'd just wish weren't there. That was Interstellar for me, a real mix of stunningly good film work and effects, marred by some silly plot. That said, I'll continue to go...
