Mommy Dead and Dearest

Truth-is-stranger-than-fiction HBO documentary about the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard, who was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in 2015. Implicated in the crime was Blanchard's daughter, Gypsy. Gypsy suffered from brain damage, leukemia, muscular dystrophy and other chronic conditions - or so the public and multiple charities thought. In fact she suffered from none of these, but was the victim of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her mother.

It certainly does have a grotesque stranger-than-fiction tale to tell, one that will duly keep any viewer with an ambulance-chasing bone in their body somewhat guiltily riveted to the tube.
