Priest 3D

Priest 3D

A post-apocalyptic, sci-fi vampire-thriller from the director of 2010's Legion, starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban and Maggie Q. Based on the graphic novel by Min-Woo Hyung.

Set in an alternate world, ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires, the story follows a legendary Warrior Priest (Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. When his niece is abducted by a murderous pack of ugly vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to find her. He is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend, a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess who possesses otherworldly fighting skills.

YAWN!!! seriously? there should be a negative rating star for this!!

Where's a WereWolf when you need one!!!

Just like Legion

Having seen the previous film by this duo (Legion) I wasn't expecting much and thats exactly what I got. Nothing much. The only redeeming part of this film I found was Karl Urban who played his role fantastically and seemed to be having fun at the same time. Definately one you can afford to miss especially with the $20 price tag

Blade meets Aliens meets Mad Max in a vampire flick

Sometimes one just needs to sit back and enjoy a stylised action flick without worrying about a little wooden acting and some so so serious its funny dialogue. Totally enjoyed this and especially liked the shaded post-apocalyptic world and thought 3d added to the art direction Two great kiwis once again playing baddies with Karl Urban and Alan Dale; and...

anything with great fight scenes and Maggie Q is worth watching! good movie if you wanna relax after a hard day's work. don't expect a deep storyline tho!

Movie had potential

Classic slow motion action scenes in this movie. But it was very predictable and slow at times. But if your in need of a vampire killing fix then go ahead and watch, just dont expect a great movie.

A great looking cold mess

I'll watch any vampire flick, and this one certainly looked great. Paul Bettany overacts in an attractive kind of way, but Karl Urban lacks any charisma - you can always camp up a villian, but he looks too lazy to do so. Film looks great but absolutely no need to see it in 3D, they just slapped it on as a post production afterthought. Plot zero, acting...

Should've gone straight to DVD

Blade/Daybreakers > Priest I was pretty bored with this flick ay. It looked promising but didn't deliver enough action & horror.

Watch the trailer

Like so many other action films the trailer is way better than the film itself. While Priest did have some good action scenes I did feel a bit let down at times. Also the "futuristic" technology looked less advanced than what we have today. Not really worth the ticket.

Zzzzz

As long as they don't sparkle, I'm pretty much down to watch any vampire movie. However, Priest was so boring I almost hoped a manic depressive teenage girl would start spontaneously spazzing in her bed over her cradle snatching boyfriend, almost.

Not exactly an unholy mess, but still a rather too pious retread of classic sci-fi/action/horror riffs that lacks originality or pizzazz, "Priest" won't strike much awe in anyone.

Any prayers for character development beyond Priest’s basic outline – bad-ass kicks ass – go sadly unheeded.

It becomes clear pretty quickly that the only real thought in the movie has gone into the cowboy-gothic costumes and the computer-generated effects.

A short, dour and stodgy creature feature with average 3D effects that draws on so many film influences from westerns, action adventures and sci-fi tales that what fun there is comes from spotting the many sources.

It moves at a lick, but is instantly forgettable.

Priest now feels more like standard-issue popcorn fare than a crazy cult classic in the making.
