Disney animated musical following the adventures of Ariel, an impetuous mermaid princess who falls in love with (the very human) Prince Eric and puts everything on the line for the chance to be with him. Based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Mermaid is Disney's 28th animated feature and is credited with starting the 'Disney Renaissance' - a boom period that saw the release of Aladdin and The Lion King amongst others.
