The Takedown
Omar Sy (Jurassic World) and Laurent Lafitte (Elle) star in this French buddy action-comedy from director Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me).
Ousmane Diakité (Sy) and François Monge (Lafitte) are two cops with very different styles, backgrounds and careers. The unlikely pair are reunited once again for a new investigation that takes them across France. What seemed to be a simple drug deal turns out to be a much bigger criminal case wrapped in danger and unexpected comedy.

Racist and homophobic humour also creeps up throughout, and constantly undermines The Takedown’s supposedly inclusionary, pro-immigrant messaging every step of the way.

The New York Times
The Takedown is a Gallic spin on buddy-cop movies... from the 1980s and ’90s. Unfortunately much of the humour, which includes several mouldy gay-panic jokes, belongs to that era, too.
