What is Landman season 2 about?
Set in the rough and tumble, high risk oilfields of modern day West Texas, Landman follows the fortunes of wa-shucks legend Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, whose job is to manage “the police and the press when the babies refuse to be sat” for oil company M-Tex Oil.
Navigating this treacherous world of tough guys, ruthless billionaires, and tricky politics with good ol’ boy charm and the iron will to back it up when he needs to, Tommy has his hands more than full this season. Demi Moore’s Cooper Norris takes over the business after her oil tycoon husband (Jon Hamm) dropped dead of a heart attack.

There’s an argument to be made that Taylor Sheridan’s latest is nothing more than propaganda for the fossil fuel industry—and that argument is not without merit. However, with a killer cast headed by Thornton and Moore, and Sheridan’s trademark crackling dialogue and soap opera plotting, it’s really fun propaganda. We’re in.
