How to watch Spartacus: House of Ashur in New Zealand
The battle is joined in this unexpected sequel to Spartacus.

It’s time to step back into the arena for this sequel to the bloody, brutal, and markedly horny Spartacus. No, not the Stanley Kubrick film with Kirk Douglas—the other one.

Spartacus: House of Ashur is now streaming exclusively in New Zealand on Three Now.
What is Spartacus: House of Ashur about?
Coming 12 years after the original season wrapped, this new series follows the fortunes of the villainous Ashur. Now, you may remember him getting his head separated from his body rather terminally in Spartacus: Vengeance back in 2012, but apparently we’re ignoring that. This is an alternate reality in which he not only survives the Battle of Vesuvius, he thrives. The former gladiator is freed and becomes the owner of a stable of pit fighters himself. But his lowborn origins and shady reputation are doing him no favours, so he’s gonna have to fight his way to the top…
The cast of Spartacus: House of Ashur
Nick Tarabay reprises his role as the titular gladiator and schemer, Ashur; Tenika Davis is Achillia, a new female gladiator he trains for the arena; Jamaica Vaughn is Hilara; Ivana Baquero is Messia; Jordi Webber and Dan Hamill are father and son gladiator team Tarchon and Celadus; Graham McTavish is team doctor Korris; Jackson Gallagher is Julius Caesar; and, in a surprising return, Lucy Lawless is back as Lucretia, which is nice trick considering the character is dead. But then again, so is Ashur, sort of. Between the Roman afterlife and this series’ alternate history, anyone’s likely to show up. Except Spartacus.
