How to watch throwback horror anthology V/H/S/94 in New Zealand

The fourth film in the V/H/S horror franchise has inserted itself into a New Zealand streaming service.

The V/H/S series has been around for almost a decade, keeping both the found-footage and horror anthology genres alive and healthy. V/H/S, V/H/S/2 and V/H/S: Viral provided collections of short handy-cam horror stories from a compilation of filmmakers who clearly grew up in the era of video rental stores.

The fourth film in the franchise, V/H/S/94, adds another five tapes to the series. As you can imagine, this one sports an appropriate ’90s theme. Returning filmmakers Simon Barrett (Seance) and Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes for Us) are joined by V/H/S newbies Jennifer Reeder (Knives & Skin), Ryan Prows (Lowlife) and Chloe Okuno (Slut) for this new outing.

Sadly, you won’t be able to hire V/H/S/94 from your local Video Ezy (RIP). Fortunately, it’s streaming right now on horror-loving provider Shudder.

Is this film for you? In his review, Flicks writer Daniel Rutledge has this to say: “for horror fans open to the anthology format, it does possess some nice originality and is worth watching, so long as your expectations aren’t too high.”
