Win tickets to our Auckland preview screening of Three Thousand Years of Longing

Somewhere in Tāmaki Makaurau, someone’s wish came true… We’re giving away tickets to our Auckland preview screening of George Miller’s romantic fantasy epic.

UPDATE: Entries have closed and winners contacted by email

George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) directs Three Thousand Years of Longing, starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba – and we’re giving Aucklanders an early chance to see it before the film opens in cinemas.

Dr Alithea Binnie (Swinton) is an academic – content with life and a creature of reason. While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn (Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom.

This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past. Eventually, she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both.

Our preview of Three Thousand Years of Longing is on Monday 29 August, on the big VMAX screen at Event Cinemas Newmarket and starting at 6:30pm. To sweeten the deal, some helpful Djinn will be providing a free popcorn and drink on arrival!

By now you’re no doubt wishing you can attend – watch the trailer and find out how to enter below:
