Tucked underneath Auckland’s Central Library, the Academy Cinema offers a multiplex antidote specialising in independent, foreign, cult and documentary movies. Its licensed candy bar includes the boutique beans of Eighthirty coffee and Kapiti ice cream, alongside craft beers, local wines and cocktails. The Academy has two theatres - a 210-seater and a mini 16-seater, both with Dolby Digital.
