All roads lead to this.

Sixth gear of the crazy popular action franchise. Stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Luke Evans, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez, coming back from the dead. The crew reassembles in order to take down a mastermind who commands an organisation of criminal, mercenary drivers across 12 countries. More

After the Rio heist in Fast & Furious 5, led by Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker), our heroes have scattered across the globe with a cool $100 million split between them. But their inability to return home and lives spent forever on the lam has left them restless. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organisation of lethally skilled drivers, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all so they can return home and make their families whole again. Hide

Aaron Yap Flicks Writer

When Fast and Furious 6 isn’t very fast and furious -- i.e. when the film grinds to a halt from thudding exposition, groan-inducing comic relief and questionable emoting -- you quickly begin to realise that what made Fast Five, the preceding franchise high point, stand out was the element of surprise from watching a series smartly re-tooled. More

Director Justin Lin had thrillingly navigated the focus away from illegal street racing to boldly preposterous heist escapades, plus the addition of Dwayne Johnson gave the cast a fresh dynamic to bounce off. Furious 6 is essentially more of the same, but as far as samey sequels go, it’s not bad, with the action pitched at hysterically overblown levels that now seem hard to reconcile with the universe established in the first film 12 years ago.

Nothing here quite tops the Rio-demolishing climax of Fast Five; where that sequence trod the fine line between the possible and impossible, Furious 6 is happy to tip the scale with two insane set-pieces worth the price of admission alone. The first sees a tank flattening cars with brutal abandon on a busy freeway, which is then followed by an enormous military cargo aircraft being brought down on the world’s first never-ending runway.

Stitching the action together is a nonsensical MacGuffin-driven plot featuring a forgettable rogue British Black Ops dude (Luke Evans) hell-bent on stealing a sought-after microchip. New cast members Gina Carano (Haywire) and Joe Taslim (The Raid) add a dose of martial arts to the mix, while returning old face Michelle Rodriguez has to carry the burden of an eye-rolling explanation for her existence.  Hide

...and on and on and on, in a good way

ikeygardner Nobody (?)

F&F6 was a slight bit boring but it was still packed with unbelievable yet awesome stunts and I am looking forward to the next two or three that are to be released, i'll leave the 'why' till you see it for yourself.

It wasn't a movie that wows people, except maybe a small ten year old child who loves cars, and although its not a complete waste of time and its thrilling enough, its not a movie that i would go out of my way to see.

I personally don't see why they had to make so many of these movies in the one series but now that i have seen them i almost feel obliged to go along and spend my money just for a bit of action, fast cars and half-naked women that i've already seen a thousand times before and could get for half the price from a DVD store.

So I suggest watching the movie as it does make a bit of fun but don't specially go to the movies, make a DVD list and go and hire it from the nearest Video Ezy. :)

A Sure Enough No Brainer but Fun Nonetheless

KeefScorsese Flicks Superstar (?)

Fast and Furious 6 is undeniably the most ludicrous, shallowest and downright laughable movie of the year. However, such judgements provide the charm, or perhaps likeability is a more suitable term.

Fast and Furious is everything it's supposed to be - loud, dumb and fun. Every character fits its stock none more so than the Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Vin Diesel. The film makes no attempt to challenge the thinking of its audience, rather unintentionally amusing the masses. While there is a proviso watching such movies of this ilk i.e. 'leave your brain at the door' which has become a safeguard for otherwise 'good' terrible movies, there are laugh out loud moments which spring such reactions "Oh no, this is almost too good". Yes there are cringe worthy moments of dialogue but it works, if not so convincingly.

The stunts are ridiculous and the juxtaposition of scantily clad women and customised vehicles is typical genre convention.

Fast and Furious 6 is largely forgettable but its a laugh. However such positive sentiments does not change the fact that its a terrible movie.

The Fast gets more FURIOUS!

Jordan Flicks Superstar (?)

"The Fast And The Furious" franchise has been a surprising beast to many. Producing commercially successful films since 2001, the series has reached number 6 and appears to be gaining more speed instead of slowing down.

Which is fitting, considering the franchise name.

"Furious 6" picks up where "Fast 5" leaves off, with a race between series stalwarts Dominic Toretto (Franchise favourite, Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker).
We quickly pick up the crew (Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Sung Kang and Gal Ghadot all returning from "5") as they are roped in by Luke Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also returning) to help him in his quest to catch International criminal, Owen Shaw (Luke Evans).

The catch being that a character thought dead, returns in the form of Dom's love, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez).

With over-the-top action that feels like homage to that of the 80's, it takes the law of physics and throws it at us with a "Don't Care" attitude that only makes the film more enjoyable.
The storyline is predictable and full of cliches and corny lines that used to lace the scripts of old, but it only adds to the formula that the audience thought was the bad taste that came with the rise of "real" stories.
And with the returning characters and cars, these top off a sundae of action movie goodness that makes "Furious 6" one of the most fun watches in the last year of film.

What "Furious 6" does best, is it doesn't try to be any more than it is, which is a furious beast that is fast becoming the new action film franchise that will spawn sequel after sequel of awesome action overload.

Did I also mention the fantastic stinger?

Series still has plenty of gas

Galen Wannabe (?)

I'm not a huge fan of this sort of thing, in fact I didn't see the first one until after the first four had come out. It was nothing to write home about and as 2,3 and 4 were critically panned I decided not to bother with them. However when I noticed five was getting food reviews I decided to risk it and I felt well rewarded and confident enough to see this latest one once it also got good reviews. There's a decent amount of humour plus over the top action including stunts, chases and fist fights. For what it's worth the story involves Dom and his gang agreeing to chase down the missing part of a weapon that a terrorist mastermind is also after. This sets it apart from the rest of the series when they're on the wrong side of the law. I groaned inwardly after I bought my ticket when I saw it was over 2 hours, but it honestly doesn't feel like it and the last 20 or so minutes are the best part. Don't know if it's good or bad news that there's a 7th coming out next year, obviously this film has carried on with the new life that the last one breathed into the franchise but it's always good to quit while you're ahead.

better story plot behind the movie, not disappointed

Fast enough, Furious & over maybe

RealityCheck Flicks Superstar (?)

Its got fast cars, boobie ladies & a bit of a storyline. Thats what I went into the screening expecting so I wouldn't be disappointed, & I wasn't :-) It delivers just what it promises, dont come out of this feature disgruntled about this & that, unrealistic etc, it is what it is. All the old cast were there, Brian, Toretto, Letty, Piglet, Spongebob, and Jason Statham, so it was just like the other 5 in that respect, got a good forumla that works.
Genre : cars, action, adventure, crime
4/5 : this is what it is & produces a multitude of boy stuff, chuck reality is out the window, check your mind at the door & enjoy it.
