A tune-filled animated extravaganza.

Jazzy, 1970 animated Disney flick set in Paris, following four pampered housecats, lost in the middle of the city. Forced out of their home by an envious butler, Duchess and the three kittens must find their way back to their loving owner, guided by a self-governing alley cat. This was the first Disney animated feature to be produced after Walt Disney's death.

An absolute favourite

I can see that noone has bothered to write a review, but that's ok because I have a story about this movie. My three kids all adored it and my youngest, now 20, begged me to hire it repeatedly when she was not quite school age. It is cool, funny, well ahead of its time while still being a step back in time, and the music is great. Indulge yourself with your tiny loved ones. xxx

Press Reviews

New York Times

The real beauty of the picture, which is as amusing, smoothly machined and beautifully colored as any Disney should be, is in the characterizations, sustained within a sprightly but simple format. Full review.

Time Magazine (USA)

The animals' exuberance is so infectious and their "acting" so true to human life that by the fadeout The Aristocats does, indeed, give the audience paws for reflection. Full review.

Variety (USA)

Helped immeasurably by the voices of Phil Harris, Eva Gabor, Sterling Holloway, Scatman Crothers and others, plus some outstanding animation, songs, sentiment, some excellent dialog and even a touch of psychedelia. Full review.
