The Crazies

The Crazies

2010

In a remake of George Romero's 1973 classic, the American Dream goes horribly wrong when the residents of a picture-perfect town begin to succumb to a mysterious toxin in the water supply that gives those exposed to it an uncontrollable urge for violence.

The horrific bloodshed escalates into anarchy and, in an attempt to contain the epidemic, the military uses deadly force to close off the town's access, abandoning the few remaining healthy citizens to the growing mayhem as depraved killers lurk in the shadows. Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant), his pregnant wife, Judy (Radha Mitchell), and their colleagues find themselves trapped, unable to trust former neighbours and friends, deserted by the authorities and terrified of contracting the illness themselves.

Starring Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker, Preston Bailey, Joe Anderson, Lisa K. Wyatt

Directed by Breck Eisner ('Sahara')

Written by Scott Kosar, Ray Wright (based on characters created by George A. Romero)
