Light-hearted and lightweight, this is likeable if forgettable fare in which Seth Rogen plays an inventor stuck on the road with his overbearing mum, as played by Meet the Parents mother Focker, Barbra Streisand. More

It’s a guilty pleasure trip that benefits from the two leads clearly hitting it off and having a ball. But the journey suffers from being too long in the company of two paper-thin characters, with too slight a plot and too few laughs. If only the whole movie had been as entertaining as the end-credit outtakes of the two stars giggling and improvising…

With little by way of surprises along the road, director Anne Fletcher wisely keeps the camera focused on Babs and Seth playing out their version of The Odd Couple on wheels. Dan Fogelman claims his script is based on his relationship with his dear ol’ mum, and there’s certainly more moments of genuine familial warmth than you might expect of lesser formulaic comedy fare. While Streisand and Rogen's relationship is smartly, affectionately drawn, just about every other element of the movie feels perfunctory. Full review.

The shtick doesn't stick in this kvetchfest with few laughs. Full review.

One of the few points of interest in the film is trying to decide which car scenes were done with a towing rig and which were green-screen process shots. Full review.

A timid, modestly pleasant time-passer distinguished mostly by its unexplored potential. Full review.
