Martha Hoffman, an eccentric and wealthy 83-year-old patron of the arts, is committed to a psychiatric clinic at the request of her daughters, who claim she suffers from dementia. Court-appointed investigator Casares looks into whether Martha is truly ill or if she has simply chosen to live her final years in complete freedom.
