All the Boys Love Mandy Lane
From the director of 50/50 and Warm Bodies comes this teen horror starring Amber Heard (Machete Kills) as Mandy Lane, object of all young men's attention. When Mandy is invited to a weekend summer getaway at an isolated ranch, the jocks compete to see who will finally get to "nail" her, only to have their priorities shifted when a mysterious killer starts to shed blood… Playing a number of festivals during 2006 and 2007, critics were divided on its merits, and the film never received a U.S. release - until it hit VOD in September 2013 ahead of a limited theatrical run.

Flaunts its knowledge of classic genre fundamentals but fails to do anything very clever or surprising with them.

However smart its conceit... the film is still about dumb, vulgar, witless teenagers being led to the slaughter.

A.V. Club
Levine and screenwriter Jacob Forman don’t seem to know quite what to do with their title character, who’s neither a fleshed-out human being nor an unattainable fantasy...

We Got This Covered
Amber Heard turns in a fun genre performance that stands out against such a dusty backdrop.

The Guardian
Mandy Lane feels bogus and compromised: an unreconstructed horror romp in the guise of a nerdish intellectual.

New York Post
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane drifts awkwardly between popcorn entertainment and angsty mood piece.

The New York Times
The hormonal realism to the performances and a laid-back run-up give the film a fairly legitimate feel for adolescence.

While some of the kills are sufficiently clever and gnarly, Mandy Lane is never particularly frightening.

The Washington Post
Too dumb for the arthouse, but too smart for the mall multiplex, the movie satisfies, paradoxically, precisely because it doesn't deliver on expectations.
